VR endorses Ukraine’s anti-corruption strategy until 2025

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the law “On the principles of the national anti-corruption policy for 2021-2025”.

A total of 310 deputies voted in favor of this bill, reports a correspondent of Ukrinform, referring to the telegram channel of MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.

The purpose of the legislative act is to achieve significant progress in preventing and combating corruption, as well as ensuring coordination and systemic anti-corruption activity of all state and local self-governments in Ukraine.

The anti-corruption strategy will be implemented through the implementation of the national anti-corruption program drawn up by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC), taking into account the specificities established by law and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Approval of the anti-corruption strategy and its further implementation should reduce the level of corruption in Ukraine, including by eliminating or minimizing corruption risks, decreasing the number of corruption offenses and corruption-related offences, by reducing individuals’ and businesses’ experience of corruption, increasing the number of public employees, individuals and businesses who are prepared and effectively report corruption, reducing the tolerance of public employees, individuals and companies with regard to corruption.
