World Bank keen to support Egypt during COP27 Presidency: World Bank official – Foreign Affairs – Egypt

During his meeting with the Minister of International Cooperation and Egyptian Governor at the WB Rania Al-Mashat, Pangestu praised the efforts of the Ministry of International Cooperation to activate innovative financing tools in Egypt.

The meeting was held during Pangestu’s visit to Egypt to hold a number of meetings as part of cooperation with the government in view of the country’s presidency at COP27.

The meeting discussed relevant international initiatives and efforts that would contribute to achieving the message of COP27.

The World Bank has presented several proposals on cooperation with the government, including the implementation of joint development projects and the provision of technical consultations at the national and regional levels.

Al-Mashat said Egypt is working through its COP27 presidency to promote climate action and green transformation efforts.

She added that Egypt has taken clear steps to support green transformation, highlighting the creation of the National Climate Change Council and the launch of the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, in addition to identifying projects supporting green transformation in various sectors.
